You know, it was about a year ago that you told me how much you hated your job working in the corporate mailroom. You said, “I have to get outta here. This job’s killing me!” I asked what type of work you wanted to do instead and you didn’t have any idea.
“When we deal in generalities we rarely have success. When we deal in specifics, we rarely have failure!”
I thought you’d only be around for a few more weeks judging by how upset you seemed. But 12 months later, you’re still here stuffing mailboxes and pushing that blasted cart around the offices!
Have you tried to learn a new skill? Have you enrolled in any classes? What is it you do with your free time?
If you want better work and income then you’ve got to qualify for it then go get it. Do you know that a lot of these executives walking around here make anywhere from $200,000-$500,000 a year! Is it because they work any harder than you? I don’t think so – you bust your tail around here. Those guys work smart more than they work hard.
If we don’t like our jobs or feel our compensation isn’t fair, let’s do something about it.
If we spend just 30 minutes a day focused on learning something new, that would add up to about 180 hours in a year we could use to develop some expertise.
We could become investing wizards in that amount of time. Or, we might learn how to start our own businesses. We could master Internet marketing and Ecommerce on the road to a fortune. Think of it!

Believe you can do it. Take all that hatred you’ve got for your job and redirect it into channels that will get you better work. Stop complaining and start complying with what it takes to get a more rewarding career.
And you’d better not still be here in a year – I’ll come back here myself to check!
