Get a High Paying Job

Have you ever wondered what the answers are to any of these questions:

  • What do I need to do to get a better job? A promotion? Better income?
  • Why do some people with degrees fail to get high paying jobs?
  • How do some people with little or no formal education do so well financially?
  • How do successful entrepreneurs learn to start and maintain their own businesses?
  • Can I get a great career without spending lots of time and money for college?
  • Why are some of the most successful people in history those who taught themselves?

Sharpen Your Learning Ability Without Spending Thousands on Formal Education or Training.

Perform an informal survey of successful people you know. Does the rewarding work they do depend on the degrees they earned? Or, did they even pursue formal education past high school? You’re not dependent on academics for learning. Who’s stopping you from buying a book to master skills that the market will pay good money for?

The roots of self-discipline and self-education produce the fruits of high paying jobs and more enjoyable work. Albert Einstein, Jane Austen, and Thomas Edison all succeeded mainly by what they learned themselves and not from school. So have JK Rowling, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, and Bill Gates.

Why Don’t I Earn More Money?

Someone once said that society will generally pay you what it thinks you are worth. Understand that money is a byproduct of delivering valued products or services to someone else who’s willing to pay. The more that companies, customers, or consumers value that good or service then the more they’re willing to pay. So if we’re not being paid what we want, then we must improve our ability to deliver higher value.

Most successful entrepreneurs understand this. They usually don’t begin asking, “What can I do to make some money?” Instead, they ask, “What are people willing to pay for?” They follow up that question with learning what they need to offer and then by delivering it.

What consumers or employers pay well for should influence our career planning and development. We can find common ground between what we do well and what they are willing to pay well for; careers we enjoy that also provide great income.

Learning Opens Doors of Opportunity

So much of the world’s economy revolves around the management of data, or information. Have you ever heard the term Knowledge Workers? We’ve reached a point where must learn and adapt to survive, let alone succeed. It’s become a “survival of the smartest” era.

Skills that serve us well in our employment today will fail to provide for us in the future. Government and schools don’t respond quickly enough with adequate learning opportunities to stay personally competitive in tides of economic change.

High paying careers usually go to those who've paid the high price of learning, self-discipline, and personal development.

“Whether You Think You Can, or Can’t, You’re Right!”

The most important aspect of our efforts to deliver ourselves from low paying, back breaking, mind numbing work is to believe that we can learn and teach ourselves. Learn about others’ success stories – how they adapted their knowledge and skills to get better work and better lives.

Tools and technologies to teach ourselves have never been so readily available. Learning how to learn is the most important ability needed to secure our own careers and standards of living. Better learning usually results in better earning. Job market trends prove this.

Our first assignment on this path to more rewarding work is simply to commit to stay on that path. Visit betterlearningbetterearning.com often for tips, tricks and insights about improving your learning ability and getting the work and income you want.
